We use magnets with a diameter of 8 mm. They consist of neodymium iron boron. This compound is currently the strongest available magnet material worldwide.

The magnets attract each other with about 2.5 kg. Magnetic field strength is strongest near the magnet pairs. These are located 6 mm below the surface. The highest measured value of the so-called magnetic flux density in the TAVAR furniture systems is 13 Millitesla.

The 13 Millitesla were recorded only right on the magnet. Already 10 cm away from the magnet the magnetic field is barely measurable! Credit cards e.g. have to withstand 40 Miliitesla without any problems.

NEODYM magnets: Advice for safe handling


Already in ancient China and in antiquity, people knew about the magnetism of magnetite iron. The compass is the best known example. We thought about the use because magnets make our furniture system flexible and easy to assemble. Best of all, the magnets retain their appeal over years – as long as the temperatures do not exceed 80 degrees Celsius. Normally, we believe that this is unlikely and have therefore decided on this way of cohesion.



Magnetic field


For car keys, USB stick, memory cards, CD, DVD, Blue-Ray, camera, mobile phone, smartphone, tablet, etc., there is no danger, just as for hearing aids. Magnetic cards made of plastic (bank cards and credit cards …) are safe. Only the thin paper magnetic cards like for parking garages should have 3 cm distance to our magnets. Mechanical watches can be influenced by the magnetic field in their operating characteristics.

Modern pacemakers are equipped with safety mechanisms that protect the pacemaker from most disturbing influences. Only when the direct distance between the pacemaker and magnets as used for the TAVAR-furniture system is only a few centimeters, there can be a (non-hazardous) influence. Please read the instructions of your pacemaker regarding magnetic interferences!



Effect on people


Magnetic fields of permanent magnets of this size have no measurable positive or negative effect on humans according to the current state of knowledge. A health hazard from the magnetic field of a permanent magnet is unlikely, but can not be completely ruled out.



Nickel allergy


The coating of the magnets consists of a nickel-copper alloy.

Some people are allergic to nickel.

The contact with the magnets within our components can only arise during assembly and disassembly.





Magnets retain their appeal over generations – as long as the temperatures do not exceed 80 degrees Celsius.
