Boards and surfaces


Our 18 mm plywood boards are made of birch and come from northern European and sustainable forestry.

The cover layers are available in four options, two of which are particularly eco-friendly:

  1. Veneered surfaces in oak, maple and beech, many other types of wood are possible.
    The surfaces are treated twice with hard wax oil.
  2. Eco-surfaces of the company Koskisen with water colour and
    transparent seal.


Details about the boards used by TAVAR:

KoskiDecor Eco Transparent (birch plywood, varnished in colour)

Extensive colour palette.
Water-based paint application, thereby emphasizing the natural birch veneer look.
Colourless melamine resin coating.
Smooth, semi-gloss, durable surface.
Surface hygienic and easy to clean.
Odourless and tasteless.

KoskiDecor is manufactured by Koskisen Oy in Finland, a family business with decades of experience in wood. The KoskiDecor plywood is consistently produced from the best birch veneers and is characterized by tight veneer veneer layers. Europlac BIRKOPLEX wood veneer with wax oil

Birch plywood through and through BFU 100, with densely-packed middle layers.
Noble veneer in oak, beech, maple.
Altogether approx. 140 different kinds of wood as special order possible.

The connectors are made of high quality certified maple and European oak.

The surfaces are treated with wax resin, based on natural shellac, oil, wax and fermentation alcohol.

At the Hesse Lignal lab, our connectors were treated with various combined preparations and tested to develop the optimal surface and best possible sun protection against bleachery and change in colour.
